Let them know that you love them in words and actions. A small kiss on the cheek before going to work, a note on the rear view mirror of their car, a small candy kiss placed beside their laptop with the simple words “I love you”. Just stopping on your way in from work to pick some wild flowers along the road is a small way to let them know that you were thinking about them and love them. What about making time to get up earlier just one day to bring them coffee in bed before you both have to get ready for work? These are very simple ways to say how you feel.
If you are in a rut, plan a getaway. If you can not afford a cruise or a vacation at this time, create a special picnic and go to the lake or park. In the basket bring things like a bottle of wine, cheese and chocolates. Just laying in each others arms beside a lake or river can get you out of the rut and back on the right track.
Make time to listen. All of us have a need to talk to and have an understanding shoulder to lean on. Men and women alike have this need. We all have stress that builds up and if no one is listening then you may decide you need to make changes in your life. You do not want your partner believing that the change is leaving you because you did not take the time to listen.
Plan your future together. Remember when you were first dating and you both had all these dreams and ambitions, where did they go? They are probably still there but are being buried because of all the pressures that you both now feel. Sit down and talk about what has changed and how your goals and ambitions are today and plan how you can attain these couples as a couple. Planning your future together will fun and exciting.
You can even re-arrange the furniture in your bedroom to give it a more alluring effect. Ask a neighbor or family member to watch the kids for an evening and when your spouse walks in have a trail of roses or chocolates leading them to a bubble bath. Have candles lit in the bathroom and give them a gentle massage while they are bathing. Then lead them into the re-arrange bedroom where you have prepared a small nice dinner on the floor, picnic style. Use candles in the bedroom as well. This will bring some romance back into your life and also some much needed relaxation. Soft music playing in the background is another added touch.
Use your imagination; you know what kinds of things your partner likes, or use to like before the kids, the bills and the stress at work. Plan activities that you both use to enjoy and enjoy them again. Nothing is as important as the love that you have for one another. Do not let anything come between what you have ahead of you with this person that you dearly love. Remember why you choose this person and work from there. Find out why you are in a rut or what has changed. Talk all of these items over with one another. You can have romance back, it may take time, but they are worth it.
